Congrats To All Who Danced in the Spring Show at the Carolina Dancesport!

May 17th was a banner day for the Carolina Dancesport crew. It marked their Spring Showcase and man was it a hit! The dancers performed dances from all over the world including Waltz, Foxtrot, West Coast Swing, Salsa, Rumba, Cha-Cha and even an International Waltz. There were Boleros and Jives, as well as Tangos and a wonderful Open Lyrical routine! The dances were so diverse and entertaining that everyone said how much fun it was and how much they enjoyed the show. The dancers in no certain order were Sharon Campbell, Mary Davis, Betty Stacks, Greg Dees, Teresa Rogers, Kennedy Rogers, Tanner Rogers, Mimi Softy, Dr. Ruth Freedenberg, Jaime and Monica Emerine, Chris McCandlish, Lorna Parkinson, Josh “pork-chop” Ortiz, Kyle Cox, Jackie Kohn, Kylie Grace Futrell, and Stephanie Delgado. Special thanks to Monica Emerine for all the time and preperation it took to put on such a fabulous spred! The ffod was un-believable and all gone after the event was over! See y’all in the fall for our next show!

After Dark at Pal Joey’s May 24th 2013

The Carolina fun bunch is at it again! We’re having an After Dark Party at one of our favorite spots….Pal Joey’s Martini Bar in Mt. Pleasant. The party starts at 9 and goes until 11pm and has very limited space available so ask your teacher how you can join the fun! Pal Joey’s always has great music, food and company and we love going there because they seem to play the music we dancers enjoy dancing to. Come dance the Foxtrot, Swing, Shag, and Rumba not to mention, the Cha-Cha West Coast Swing and other favorites as well. The group is always small so everyone gets to dance unlike other studios that have so many people in attendance and you’re lucky if you get to dance once. Who wants to do that? Not us that’s for sure! Something about a small group that makes it more fun! Enjoy the night with the CDS Crew and you’ll leave with a smile on your face and sore feet!

Showcase Tickets Sold Out!!

May 17th marks the date of our Spring Showcase and tickets are sold out! Every seat will have a butt and there’ll be a butt in every seat! Standing room only will be available for this event and if you want to stand you’ll need to get here so there’ll be some of that because it’ll be in short supply as well. The dancers are ready to perform and they have all their steps down pat so get ready for a great show filled with Foxtrots, Waltz’s ,West Coast Swings, Tangos, Argentine Tangos, Cha-Cha and Rumba as well as some really great Novelty numbers. Doors open at 6:30 and the show starts at 7:30 so get here early to enjoy a super buffet, some great general dancing and a terrific show!

Pajama Party is the Theme Party in June!

The Cinco de Mayo Party was so much fun we figured why not have another theme party….so Pajama Party! That’s right, break out the silks and the flannels, the fuzzy slippers and the Scooby-Doo boxers and come to the Carolina Dancesport for a dancing great time! The party will start at 8pm with a great class at 7:15 that’s sure to keep you up late! We’ll be serving all your favorite cocktails too like Chocolate Martinis, Raspberry ’Tinis, and some really cool finger foods! And as always, if your a student at the studio the parties are always free! Remember,if you bring a friend, you’ll have the chance to win some FREE Lessons! Ask as many people to join in on the fun as you want and we’ll see you then!

The studio’s Spring Showcase is right around the corner and almost all the front row seats are taken! Come see your Carolina Dancesport Teachers and their students present dances like Tango, Foxtrot, Waltz as well as Cha-Cha, Rumba, Swing and West Coast Swing as well as the Bolero and some novelty numbers that are sure to make you roll in the aisle! Among the dancers are Jackie Kohn, Mimi Softy, Mary Davis, Dr. Ruth Freedenburg, Sharon Campbell, Betty Stacks, Greg Dees, Lorna Parkinson Josh Ortiz, Kyle Cox, And of course Mr. and Mrs. Emerine. We even have numbers that are Jazzy and Sassy from a Junior Group of competitive dancers in Summerville! This show will have such great variety and some great color! The Food and drinks are also part of the ticket price which is $20.00 for singles and $30.00 for couples. Be sure to look under your chair as you may be the winner of a special dance package of lessons for FREE! MAke your plans to attend May 17th. Doors open at 6:30pm and general dancing begins at 7. You read it right, we’re having a fiesta like none other next Friday here at the studio! In celebration of Cinco de Mayo, (Mexican Independence Day) we here at C.D.S. are throwing a dance party like no other. The night will begin with great Latin music to dance Salsa, Rumba, Merengue, and Chah-Cha and continue on with the classics like the Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango and of course Swing and West Coast Swing. The party starts at 8 so don’t be late! The studio will be providing all the refreshments to include Mexican Beer and Margaritas! Bring some chips and salsa and we’ll have a super time! Of course there’ll be lot’s of dancing and you’re invited to bring a friend too! This month, for every Qualified Guest you bring you have the chance to win 2 Private and 2 Group lessons! Now that’s something to cheer about isn’t it? Also, remember may 17th is our Spring Showcase! The doors open at 6:30 pm and general dancing begins at 7 pm with the show starting at 7:30. Spring Ball A Great Time For All!

The first ever Spring Ball here at the Carolina Dancesport was a huge success and so much fun! The food was fabulous, dancing great and the photo booth so much fun! Thanks to Teresa Rogers for bringing the both as it added an element of spontaneity to all who entered! Funny hats, glasses and feather boas were everywhere and of course, good ole Pork Cop Ortiz was right in the middle of it all! With Duck face and glasses donned, Ortiz sat for as many photos as possible. At one point, he even danced at the party! Stuffing his face with all he could and drinking his way into a frenzied state of hilarity, Ortiz posed for more photos than Lindsey Lohan and Kim Kardashian combined! Among some of the faces were Millicent aka Mimi Softy, Ernesto and Shelby Groome, Sharon Campbell, Betty Stacks, Audrey Baugh, Susan Brock and to many more to list in this blog. Needless to say, a good time was had by all!

As the big May show here at the Carolina Dancesport approaches tickets for our Spring Showcase are now on sale. May 17th is the date and the doors open at 6:30pm while general dancing will begin at 7pm. The show is sure to be a huge hit with some terrific numbers featuring professional and pro-am numbers including Waltz, Cha-Cha, Rumba, West Coast Swing, Bolero and many many more!
